THE STRIDENTS

The Stridents are textile sculptures on steel frames, featuing patterns inspired by church confession screens and home radiators. They are shown with Mirror for Recluses, a polyvocal sound installation that explores the history of reclusive Anchorite nuns, and Say It Ain't So, a series of serigraph text on lampblack.

Based on research into medieval hermetic nuns The Anchorites. The installation features speakers embedded into the walls of TRUCK gallery, out of which emits a chorus of voices reciting sections of the guide for Anchorites "The Speculum Inclusorum".
